Happy Saturday! While this week felt like second summer in the Northeast, my mind has been elsewhere. I simply can’t let the temperature dictate my inspiration any longer. I would have never thought we’d be selling out of black linen product in October but here we are! More to come as well:)
A little reminder our warm weather sweater sale wraps today. If you’ve never tried our cropped Arden sweater, I highly encourage it. We used a very expensive silk yarn that we will not be repeating again…oh the joys of running a clothing business. It’s the perfect pairing with high waisted skirt or over a dress. There are only a few XL’s left so grab one while you can!
I’m focused on launching our holiday product in the next few weeks but I have to admit I’m very distracted. The new Priscilla film directed by my favorite Sofia Coppola hits theatres November 3rd. I truly cannot wait. These images are all I can think about…
With so much to look forward to, I thought this week I’d give you a glimpse into my merriment planning calendar for the coming months…today it’s Turkey Day.
I’m hosting thanksgiving this year and I always start scheming early. After a decade of looking at endless blue and white patterns, these days I’m drawn to the warmth of the yellows and greens popular in the 90’s. Photographs of Ina’s home in the 90’s are few and far between, but these are top of mind for the holidays.
Substack readers, maybe you can help me. I’m looking for full drop real linen tablecloths, ideally in tan or burnt orange. I can’t find them anywhere! I can always sew them myself but with our busiest October and November to date, I’d love a new resource. Let me know in the comments if you have suggestions!
If you’re local, Dickson’s Farmstand is a great resource if you want to take one Thanksgiving item off your list. We lost gas last year in our old apartment (the worst possible diagnosis an apartment can receive) and I had to purchase a pre-cooked turkey and gravy. I know. While I will be making almost everything business as usual this year, I’m taking gravy off the list and handing it off to Dickson’s. Eliminating that very last stovetop cooking was game changer for me. Plus, I love an excuse to go to Chelsea Market.
While I’m not giving away any spoilers, we have oodles of new product dropping this month that will be perfect for Thanksgiving Day. My number one tip for a perfect Turkey day outfit is COOLNESS. It is not the day for turtleneck sweaters or cashmere if you’re cooking. We’re focused on lightweight, fall forward pieces that will keep you cool even with two ovens going. Get excited!
Gobble gobble,
MM
As always, love the newsletter! Bed Threads has a 70” width linen tablecloth in a range of colors that might be worth a look!
