My favorite week of the year came early this year. Our Daphne turtleneck sweater has dropped in four new colors online. Each is more delicious than the next and, in my opinion, you need every color. Mom, I’m talking to you.
I know it might seem a little early this year, as it is currently a 95-degree inferno in NYC. I am bound and determined to have our best-selling product in your closets the second the temperature drops. Running a production and delivery calendar is stressful all year, but it’s a whole different ball game come October. Sweaters need to on backs, sequins need to be ordered and red yarn must be delivered on time. It is a herculean task, and we are so thrilled to have new Daphne colors offered sooner than ever.
A snapshot below of a loving evening I had this week at Waverly Inn. Like most restaurants in New York, it’s a divine experience if you dine before 6pm. I’ve wanted to do a very comprehensive, up to date NYC restaurant guide on Substack since we started. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like me to do a roundup. I’m thinking a local’s guide of where to go, where not to, how, when and why.
If you’re spending your September near a pool and want something fresh from MM that will deliver instantly, we’ve got you covered with another fan favorite staple. Our one shoulder Anita swimsuit is in stock and ready to ship. This swimsuit is a life saver. If two layers of swim fabric isn’t enough to convince you, the shirring through the body certainly will.
It’s not only my favorite week because of our Daphne launch. There’s such an energetic back to school energy in New York. I love running into old friends on my coffee walks and penciling in those first few holiday plans in my calendar.
If you’re local to New York, I suggest you join me in seeing the new Ed Ruscha exhibit “Then and Now” at the MOMA. It opens tomorrow, September 10th. I’ve never been to The Modern but I’m thinking this week will be my first time as well.
Speaking of openings, I’m very curious to try my luck getting into Sailor. It’s a new restaurant from the chef of the now closed Spotted Pig, one of my old favorite West Village haunts. The décor is by the architect and creative director of all the Ralph Lauren restaurants, including the Polo Bar, Alfredo Paredes. It is in Greenport, Brooklyn, a place I do not often find myself. I think I’ll have to brave the journey and give it a go. Hard journalism, you know?
Xx,
MM
Would love a guide!
