Happy Saturday!
It is finally, FINALLY a gorgeous weekend in New York that truly feels like Summer has arrived. We have nothing on preorder this weekend, just oodles of fresh Daphnes ready to ship. Those who have them, if you’re like me, they probably need a refresh ;)
With nothing to do but enjoy the weekend, I thought I’d share below some things I’ve bought recently, or are lingering in my cart (and mind), for a summer refresh.
I love to give everything a once-over in June for the warm months ahead. I’m tired of whatever I said was my new obsession all Spring, and know last Summer’s are worse for wear. This applies to home, clothes, accessories - all the things that make the majority of your day better.
IN THE HOME
I’m always in the market for new quilts (70 lb dog I inherited with my husband…) and frankly the market is lacking. I love this neutral one that is so so summery. It would pair with any and all bedding. Sleeping under a quilt and a cotton blanket is so summery to me.
I also was recently introduced to Brooklinen and LOVED the “leaf” colorway in the store for their European Washed Linen bedding. It’s sort of an acidic but neutral green that I find so appealing and fresh. You could easily mix the sheets/pillowcases under the white quilt above. I have a green bedroom, so mixing these tones is very appealing to me to shake it up. Of course, they have a few blue options, too, for a safer bet. Quality and softness was lovely.
I’m always looking for new/refreshed hurricanes at a good price. I love the shape of the large size here, but I would also use two of the small size on my coffee table for a cocktail party for a more European feel.
Speaking of cocktails, I’m always looking for a glassware update. Every so often I love a King Cole Bar size martini at home with a fabulous snack. These are high quality and worth treating yourself to, they don’t quite look like rented glassware, which I always appreciate.
These are a chic option that came up on my Pinterest this week. I like that they look vintage/European, and are actually acrylic, so they’re outdoor friendly. Plus they’re on clearance. That’s Summer calling!
While I was on Crate & Barrel I noticed my mainstay wine goblet is also on sale. I seriously love this glass of EVERYTHING. Wine, water, cocktails for guests prone to spill or break… They just work and mix in perfectly with any other glassware on a table or bar. I’m sure I need a few more!
These steel coupes also came up on my Pinterest (I spend a lot of time there lol). They’re not *quite* my style for cocktails, but what I would do is end a Summer dinner with a serving of warm blueberry crumble in these with a scoop of ice cream on top. Much more fun than a boring bowl.
On the more posh end of the above, these silver condiment cups are still living rent free in my head. They are available for just ten more days, and I think I need at least 8-10 myself. I am in my mid 30s, am an unapologetic condiment lover, and deserve to treat myself to such a small pleasure. Imagine ordering late night McDonalds for a party and giving everyone a plate and a silver ketchup cup?! So chic. It’s a more practical equivalent of the famous sterling ketchup sleeve, which is never available, and who even has time to source a glass ketchup bottle like that, anyways?? So much simpler with the cups. See? We just completely justified that purchase! ;)

To clean that up, I’m feeling like refreshing my linen napkins in “Bluebell” or “Ocean”. Just doesn’t get more summery with simple white plates.
ON THE BODY:
I bought these raffia sandals a few weeks ago and am shocked how much I seriously love them. They work so well with everything I wear - shifts, white jeans (yes, by the way, for the first time I like/feel good in a wider leg jean) and a fresh daphne sweater, or something dressy. I love the versatility, it’s daytime or evening appropriate and works with almost every color.
For other summer accessory options when I get restless here, I think this bag is a great mix of natural/summery, but a little bit dressier/more “city”, especially for the price.
I am on record as not a fan of block heels. I understand the convenience/comfort/walking on grass arguments. It’s just not my thing. However I did see these this week, I thought they looked great and not *so* chunky. I don’t think I’ll try them but I highly endorse with MM - and on pretty good sale.
ONE FINAL NOTE:
These are technically a mix of home items, but it’s more the chaotic journey of how I discovered that made me drop these here. I have been in desperate need of more lamps/light sources in my apt. It’s just been imbalanced, which I think happens a lot. I’m of the mind that the best lighting is as from as many lower light level varieties as possible.
Well, I now know three people who have bought this Zara Home (who knew?) lamp, either in the table or floor size, and loved it. I recently got one and love it, and again, great price. Anyone who needs a lamp refresh should pick up one or two, they mix effortlessly with a lot of styles. I might recover the shade in an MM print this summer…
I also talk a lot about replanting in odd containers. These pots are a chic, moody brown that I am jonesing to tuck some ferns into this summer.
I also love the dark rattan trivet they suggest with the pots. I would also use this for a buffet/dinner table. So cute!
Enjoy the weekend beauties.
