Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely and slow start to the weekend. This week really felt like the first real stretch of summer in NYC, which I’m trying to embrace. If you’ve been here since the beginning, you know I can’t mentally stay in the season we’re in. We work far in advance to design the drop calendar and I’ve been in summer mode since January.
I’ve been experimenting with updating a few basics in my wardrobe lately. With that said, I’ve found a few great things that have found their way both to my closet and on my shopping list. These are things that will come in handy in between seasons, on a plane, or on a chilly East Coast beach. I’m biased, but I don’t think East Coast beaches ever really warm up…
I recently ordered these jeans from Gap and am loving them. Truthfully, I was very nervous to even try wide leg jeans. I’m not sure why, because I love wide leg trousers. Love the fit, the rise and the fabric.
The second the calendar turns to June, I start looking at jackets. I can’t help it. Love this cropped jacket from Cos. I’d pair with a light trouser and any MM printed pashmina. Add these brown loafers if you’re traveling or want a little extra polish. If you’re looking for a simple, elegant flat, these are a wonderful option. It’s simply horrifying what’s happening in shoe trends these days. No words.
I wore these heels to dinner last night and am obsessed. They pair perfectly with all our new Lorenas and any MM dress you already have hanging in your closet! They’re both comfortable and a great heel height. I never want to look like a tall girl who’s scared of wearing heels, so I try to stay away from really low heels, but these are just tall enough.
I’m always trying to update my bar. As many martini glass options as possible in my house. I love both this short option for martinis and the tall for summery John Dalys. If you need a fresh set of affordable glasses, these are chic and simple.
I’m really on the hunt for a great black warm weather bag. We have a lot of “all seasons” dresses that take black accessories, and I’m coming up short. So much of America is hot all year round, and y’all want to wear black! This seems like a nice, low commitment neutral. The Michael Kors bag I’ve been obsessed with all spring is really on sale this weekend. Very tempting. This is a big version, which would be extremely chic paired with any of our black one pieces. This option just has a touch of black, which I also love.
xx,
MM
