Saturday 04.27.24
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your week was as warm and sunny as mine in NYC. And let’s all cheers to mercury finally being out of retrograde. I don’t know about you but mine was a doozy. Anywho! A customer sent in such a fun question on Instagram this week, I was inspired to elaborate for this weekend’s post based on the question. Isn’t that the beauty of this platform?
What are we drinking in each Nonie?
I love this question and happen to order cocktails based on where I am and what outfit I’m donning. So I thought I’d do a little cocktail roundup based on each new Nonie in our drop! Pre-order ends today (5pm EST!) so be sure to checkout if you haven’t already.
Nonie Gown, Black Linen: Dirty Tanqueray Martini (obviously)
I take my martini stirred with no vermouth, very dirty and preferably garnished with blue cheese stuffed olives if available. I always make sure to chill the glasses in the freezer before serving at home. As I get older, I tend to only enjoy martinis inside. I find that drinking them outside is not enjoyable. They become warm quickly and sweat all over the table. These are the martini glasses I have at home. Warning, they’re gigantic.
This I can answer with confidence because I requested this cocktail while wearing this while we were in Miami! It’s a version of a margarita with a few refreshing tweaks. I’m a big Casamigos fan so I generally request that as a base and then do a mix of fresh watermelon juice and lime juice. I love my margaritas spicy, so I’ll do a combination of fresh jalapeno or a smoky pepper of some kind as an add. Serve over ice and garnish with a big wedge of lime. Hello summer!
Our Nonie gown in Watercolor Floral screams a classic crisp glass of chilled champagne to me. If you’re looking to spice it up a notch, start with a little fresh peach juice at the bottom of the flute before pouring the champagne. This is the signature cocktail at Harry Cipriani. While I don’t order it ofter at the restaurant because it doesn’t pair well with savory food, I’d love to find myself wondering around a beautiful garden sipping on some bubbles.
The first time I went to San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara for dinner, I had a cocktail loosely based on the below ingredients and it was so refreshing. I did see Carol Burnett sitting at the corner table sipping on something similar, a welcome endorsement in my book! I’m heading back next week and will certainly pop my Romilly Nonie on for my return visit.
-Ketel One Vodka (I would also sub rum)
-Homemade or fresh pineapple juice
-A squeeze of lime juice
-Muddled mint
-Cucumber
-Garnished with a slice of pineapple
Cheers!
