Saturday 02.10.24
Happy Saturday everyone! I thought we should deviate from normal Saturday programming this week to discuss something fun. Ya’ll already know today is the last day to pre-order our Parker dress. With a full five days of Vitamin D in my system, I’m back to life. New drops, new evening, new travel! Today I’m going to share a fun list of things I’m excited about. Nothing is in order and it doesn’t have a cohesive theme. Spring is right around the corner. Praise be.
This is a new Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood I’m dying to try. I was delighted to read about it in this article. 2024 is all about new places, new experiences, and CHANGE. Out with the old. In with the new.
I have proudly not purchased a new pair of shoes in an entire calendar year. If you “invest” in nice shoes (a term that fails to consider any kind of weather in a city where walking is the main form of transportation), there should be years where no new shoes are acquired (not including Nikes). These will be my first new pair of 2024 and I will purchase them in both colors. The ugly, uglier and ugliest flat shoe trend seems to be continuing into 2024, but I will not be partaking. They are equal parts chic and seasonal.
Yes, I did purchase these on Amazon for future summer fun. Hear me out. While I do love hotdogs, how chic would individual lobster rolls be served in these? It’s sort of a poor man’s gratin dish. It will be tasteful, you’ll see.
I stumbled into the new Rizzoli location earlier in the week. It was originally on 57th street and I’ve so missed it. It was such an inspirational trip and I encourage you to visit if you’re local. They have a wonderful assortment of books you don’t see on every roundup or Amazon’s suggestions. I now have a really large new list for 2024. I take photos in every bookstore, clothing store, home store I visit so I can remember in the future.
We’ve discussed this purchase before and I must admit I haven’t pulled the trigger. I promise this will be the quarter. I’m still on my 90’s Ina kick and I think it will finally scratch my itch.
It’s very perplexing to me that I haven’t found myself on a gorgeous tropical beach this winter. I sell resort clothing after all. While we move distribution centers and organize every inch of the backend of our business this month, I will be dreaming of this cocktail at the end of the day. How fun would a round of these look resting on our signature cocktail napkins? I’ll let you know.
Happy Taylor Swift Sunday ;)
