What a whirlwind weekend it was at MM! Our Saturday Substack is coming to y’all today to bring a little pep into the kickoff of what will be a very sleepy week in NYC.
Our Labor Day sale continues this week and ships in time for the long weekend. We have some incredible fall ready pieces that will bring joy to your closet the second the temperature drops after the holiday weekend.
In certain parts of the country of course. For all my southern girls, don’t worry. We have oodles of shifts and sleeveless lightweight dresses to get you through Indian Summer.
We traveled to Lake Muskoka over the weekend to see one of our oldest and dearest friends get married. It was my honor to design her wedding dress and what a pleasure it was.
Lake Muskoka is a charming area in Ontario, Canada, about a two-hour car ride from Toronto. If you’re a Maine lover or a cooler oriented traveler, I’d highly recommend it during August.
I had a rather inspirational visit to BG while having lunch this afternoon. Sometimes you really can learn a lot by being a tourist in your own city. I enjoy the BG restaurant under very specific terms. We always go during sleepy weeks in the city (week before Labor Day). I prefer to eat at the bar and always arrive at 11:30 sharp when the restaurant opens.
They showed me a festive indigo colored gin I had never seen. It seems to be widely available throughout my neighborhood liquor stores. It doesn’t taste at all like its color. How fun to surprise your guests with a purple martini or French 75!
I was feeling quite adventurous today and tried the truffle chicken salad sandwich for my entrée. This is a very far stray from my usual Gotham salad with extra dressing. The combination of truffle oil and raisin bread was a fun combination that would make an excellent tea sandwich for Derby Day or Easter. I’d start with a classic chicken salad recipe and add a tiny amount of truffle oil to taste.
Let’s all take advantage of the long week and weekend ahead by trying something out of the ordinary! See you in September:)
